K-6 Field Trip to the Log Cabin Village in Fort Worth!
Thrive Families,
You’re invited to a field trip for grades K-6 the Log Cabin Village in Fort Worth on Wednesday, March 26 from 1:00-4:00 pm. This is a wonderful opportunity for your family to connect with others while exploring the life of a 19th century Texan child!
Program:
Wagons West (designed for K-6th graders)
This immersive experience allows participants to step into the life of a 19th-century Texan child. Activities include:
- Washing clothes with a washboard and lye soap
- Carding wool
- Completing chores in the Seela hands-on cabin
- Grinding corn by hand
- Weaving on a child’s scale loom
- Participating in 1800s schoolhouse lessons
- Crafting and dipping a candle to take home
Cost:
- Students (participating in the program): $15 each
- Parents: $5 each
- Family members (older or younger, joining the historical tour only): Pay at the door ($6 or $7, depending on age)

- A minimum of 15 student participants is required, but there is a maximum of 30.
