Our History

We have provided classes to homeschoolers for more than two decades. Initially affiliated with Home Educator’s Resources, we changed our name to Thrive Preparatory Academy when the owners of Home Educator’s Resources retired in 2023. Despite the name change, our teachers and staff remain the same, and we are honored to continue to offer classes to the homeschooling community in our current location.

Mission Statement: Thrive Preparatory Academy exists for the purpose of partnering with families of home educated students to provide an education steeped in a Christian world view, taught by instructors who are highly qualified, degreed individuals with homeschooling experience, to prepare students for academic success in college and beyond.

Vision Statement: Thrive Preparatory Academy aspires to partner with homeschooling parents to provide a rich Christian education that is academically rigorous, creatively individualistic, and college preparatory, through emphasizing critical thinking, problem-solving, and the effective use of relevant technology as it relates to academics.

Although all of our teachers have homeschooling experience and are degreed, many of them are also certified teachers in the state of Texas. We have teachers with ESL credentials and teachers with experience teaching students with various academic needs. We also have staff who are experienced in working with students who have Type 1 Diabetes and those with a hearing impairment.
