STEM 5th-8th Grade

This hands-on class will feature numerous STEM opportunities for students to work in groups to achieve a goal while utilizing the engineering design brief process (ask, research, imagine, plan, create, test, improve). Students will start with a problem to solve, will be given a “budget” to spend on their project and will plan their solution. They will be invited to use their creativity as they work independently, with a partner, or in a team. Students will use multiple educational disciplines including writing, reading, math, and science to create their final product. Products will be tested and modified as needed to determine if they solved the challenge. Students will engage in discussion to determine what worked and learn from what did not.
